An Early Years Teacher is required for a top International Baccalaureate School in the Bahamas. The start date for this is August 2021.   Please apply if you meet the following requirements;

 

Applicants should be fully-qualified, 2-years’ post-qualification experience is preferred & PYP experience will be a strong advantage but is not a necessity. This opportunity is unfortunately not suitable for single teachers with dependents or spouses. This is an independent, non-selective, non-denominational day school offering a high standard International Baccalaureate, Junior Pre-K through Grade 12 education.  It is very well-established and was transformed from a small, community school into an innovative and strong educational facility. The student body of 385 students is diverse with approximately 41 nationalities represented on campus. The school provides a challenging and transformative education, they empower students to be successful by leading them to become lifelong, inquiring, principled and caring critical thinkers.

The school is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).  It is authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) to teach the Diploma Programme (DP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and, most recently, the Career-related Programme (CP). It is a certified Eco-School under the United Nations Green Schools Programme.

Secondary facilities include eight multipurpose classes, two music rooms, two science labs, one art room, one Language Acquisition room, and one Maker Space.  Shared with the Elementary School are the library, basketball court, swimming pool, Physical Education building, soccer-practice field, and other shared spaces that include off-campus tennis, baseball equestrian, sailing, and additional fields.

 

Salary/Benefits:

  • The salary scale on offer is $30,000-$60,000 (tax-free) per annum, based on qualifications and experience

  • Annual home leave allowance of $1,000 per year for single or $1,700 per year for family for a maximum of two years.
  • A one-time Relocation/settling-in allowance of $2,500 (single) or $3,500 (family) at the beginning of the first contract with the school.
  • Interest-free loan of up to $5,000 (single) or $10,000 (family), repayable within the term of contract at the beginning of the first contract with the school.
  • A monthly housing allowance of $1,500 (single), $2,200 (family with 1 or more children) for two years.
  • Housing security deposit, first and last month’s rent advanced by the school repayable over the length of first contract with the school.
