Living and working in Kuwait you will experience the best of Arabic culture as well as a large, warm ex-pat community. The country is known for its excellent middle eastern and Arabic food and coffee as well as having a selection of western style restaurants. Kuwait is a safe country with a low crime rate. It is possible to explore the whole gulf region easily from Kuwait as well as take flights to Asia and even Australia and New Zealand.
DIRECT is delighted to be recruiting for a very successful and rapidly expanding group of Early Years Centres and Primary Schools in Kuwait. The schools are keen to employ experienced teachers but are also very happy to hire NQTs and teachers with one year of experience. If you are looking to relocate with a friend this could be the ideal opportunity!
The schools provide quality English education at affordable prices to a large and growing number of families in Kuwait. They are responsible for the care and education of approximately 6000 students. Students are predominantly ESL, from local Kuwaiti and other Arab families. Their mission is to ensure that all children are given the opportunity to ‘be the best they can be’. Their bilingual programme teaches fluency in English and Arabic and they use the English National Curriculum as the foundation to deliver the best of Early Years and Primary education. The schools are located on independent sites across Kuwait, to meet the needs of the families they serve. Each campus is equipped with art, library, P.E and music facilities and has a well-equipped play area which has been adapted for use all year round in recognition of the hot summer months.
The schools are very committed to the continued professional development of their teaching staff. They run a formal in-house CPD programme, delivered through regular workshops across a wide range of pedagogical topics which are identified through performance evaluation and requirements put forward by teachers themselves. The schools offer teachers, who demonstrate commitment and strong performance, long term career prospects. This is promoted from within. As a continuously expanding educational company, they offer opportunities for promotion to staff with the skills and experience to take up academic management and supervisory positions. The Primary Schools are accredited members of COBIS. They were inspected in May 2016 and have now established a fully recognised NQT programme.
